Position Summary

At GFL Environmental, we take pride in our cutting-edge fleet and equipment, which is meticulously maintained by our skilled Fleet Maintenance team. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Mechanic to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic work on a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment
* Complete repairs on all mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, driveline, brake systems, hydraulic systems, and more
* Participate in our comprehensive safety program and ensure compliance with all GFL and Fleet Maintenance safety standards, policies, and procedures
* Ensure repaired equipment is properly tested for correct performance and operation
* Utilize excellent organizational skills to complete accurate, legible, and descriptive documentation for all completed repairs
* Install or fabricate aftermarket equipment and components as assigned
* Communicate effectively with Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, and Parts Coordinator

Requirements:

* Apprentice or Journeyman Certificate
* Experience with the SGI Motor Vehicle Inspection Program
* Class 5 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract required, 1A or 3A Driver's License preferred
* Strong Mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment
