About the Role

Sprout Social is seeking a seasoned Data Science Manager to lead its AI team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and deploying cutting-edge AI products that drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of data scientists and software engineers in the development and deployment of new AI product features.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver new capabilities to our customers and define opportunities for applying data science to our products.
  • Act as a player-coach, working to deliver new data products while overseeing and guiding the work of data scientists and engineers.
  • Contribute to shaping our long-term AI roadmap.
  • Empower team growth by upholding our standards and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the Data Science/AI/ML space.
  • 2+ years of experience as a manager of data science and/or engineering teams and working in cross-functional teams to deploy production-level data products.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and scaling high-performance teams through hiring and coaching of data scientists and engineers.
  • Deep proficiency in the end-to-end ML lifecycle and applying that to a broad range of ML problem spaces.
  • Proficient with model services, deployment technologies, ML-Ops practices, and cloud services (e.g., GCP, AWS, and Azure).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with generative AI and working in a broad range of ML problem spaces, including classification, regression, time-series, recommendation systems, anomaly detection, and/or natural language processing.
  • Experience leveraging the Python data science stack for model development and deployment.
  • Experience partnering with product and design to articulate and execute an AI roadmap.
  • Familiar with software engineering best practices and managing software engineers.
