About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Food Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our patient and retail food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and services to our patients, residents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve patient meals and snacks, ensuring accuracy and attention to dietary needs
  • Deliver patient trays and supplies to designated areas, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow
  • Participate in receiving and storing food and non-food supplies, adhering to First In First Out (FIFO) principles
  • Assist with menu planning, preparation, and presentation, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
About You

We are looking for a motivated and team-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, we encourage you to apply.

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent, or demonstrated skills and/or relevant work experience
  • Restaurant experience and customer service skills considered an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. The hourly rate is $20.02, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
