The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its Trade Policy Unit as the Director. This is a critical leadership opportunity for an individual to provide strategic direction and guidance to a team of trade policy professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Trade Policy Unit, ensuring the effective implementation of trade policy objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, federal government officials, and international institutions to advance Saskatchewan's trade policy interests.
  • Stay up-to-date with international trade policy developments, trade agreements, and market access issues affecting the agriculture industry.
  • Lead and facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex trade policy challenges.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in economics, agriculture economics, international studies, or international business.
  • Equivalent experience with an undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and innovation.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, conflict management techniques, and the ability to lead and coach a team of professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent Saskatchewan's trade interests and objectives.
