About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Truck Trailer Mechanic to join our team at Davidson Contract Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet of trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including adjustments, replacements, and overhauls of parts and components.
  • Estimating and Costing: Accurately estimate parts and labor costs for maintenance and repairs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine tasks.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports and documentation of problems and repairs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Certifications: Possess a trade certification in truck-trailer repair, such as the Truck-Trailer Repairer Trade Certification.
  • Area of Specialization: Have expertise in engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, diesel engines, diagnostics, alignment, steering and suspension, brake systems, fuel and emission systems, ignition and electrical systems, automatic transmission, engine repair and overhaul, frame straightening, welding, and truck-trailer repair.
  • Work Environment and Physical Capabilities: Work in a fast-paced environment, requiring attention to detail and physical stamina.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess excellent oral communication skills, be accurate, dependable, flexible, and a team player.
