About the Role

As a Junior Technical Specialist, you will enhance public safety by delivering consulting services and education within TSSA and externally on the requirements of the TSS Act, Ontario BPV Regulations, and adopted technical codes and standards.

You will be responsible for coordinating the process of developing, revising, and updating Safety Bulletins, Directors Orders, QA Procedures, inspection procedures, and other BPV technical documents. You will also assist clients in developing their QA manuals and preparing for QA surveys.

This role requires a sound knowledge of pressure equipment design, inspection, manufacture, installation, repair, alteration, operation, and maintenance. You should also have a deep understanding of Risk Management principles and be able to analyze large datasets to discover insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the process of developing, revising, and updating Safety Bulletins, Directors Orders, QA Procedures, inspection procedures, and other BPV technical documents
  • Assist clients in developing their QA manuals and preparing for QA surveys
  • Analyze large datasets to discover insights
  • Perform root cause analysis

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) is preferred
  • Ontario Certificate of Competency and National Board Commission is preferred
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Secondary school diploma
  • General technical understanding of pressure equipment
  • Data analytic skills
  • Skills in preparing and delivering training and presentations
