Job Overview

At Squarepoint Capital, we are seeking a skilled Database Systems Specialist to join our global systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting cross-platform databases solutions to deliver highly available, high-performance, and scalable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal development, investment, and infrastructure teams to design and deploy databases solutions.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, Clickhouse, and Microsoft SQL databases to ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Develop and optimize indexes, triggers, and stored procedures.
• Provide Linux systems administration and experience with Python, Ruby, or Perl programming languages.
• Participate in source control concepts, best practices, and the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of database administration experience, with expertise in at least one of the following: PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, or FoundationDb.
• Strong knowledge of high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with Linux systems administration and programming languages such as Python, Ruby, or Perl.
• Basic understanding of source control concepts and the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other database platforms such as ClickHouse, FoundationDb, MSSQL, MongoDb, Redis, and Neo4j.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Chef, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Experience with observability and monitoring stacks such as Prometheus exporters, LogStash, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, and AlertManager.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience working with various cloud providers (AWS and GCP).
