Job Description: Risk Management Associate Director

">

This exciting role is part of Royal Bank of Canada's Group Risk Management team, responsible for overseeing banking book market risk and funds transfer pricing activities across RBC's Combined US Operations. As a key member of this team, you will provide complex analytical support for managing risk across large portfolios of assets and liabilities, along with associated risk factors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Applying knowledge of Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) to provide support to the Lead, ALM Risk Management on matters pertaining to oversight of ALM and management of CUSO entities.">
  • Coordinating efforts within established policies and procedures, assuming responsibility for interpretation and delivery within established guidelines.">
  • Demonstrating a good understanding of procedures and concepts within ALM and responding to moderately complex functional queries.">
  • Adhering to operating policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines, making recommendations within scope of ALM and/or providing input into policy and procedure amendments.">
  • Providing independent oversight of FTP activities, including review of associated methodologies, policies, and procedures across CUSO.">
  • Promoting alignment between RBC CUSO and RBC Enterprise FTP policies, procedures, standards, and controls.">
  • Analyzing data and preparing reports of observations, and relatively simple recommendations based on findings.">
  • Ensuring a strong control environment by aligning data management, methodology, and quantitative models.">
  • Understanding and quantifying the impacts from model and parameter assumptions employed within the banking book market risk framework, including deposit duration models, retail pricing models, and loan prepayment models.">

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • 2+ years' experience in the financial services sector.">
  • Bachelor's Degree.">
  • Knowledge and experience in ALM, interest rate risk oversight, or funds transfer pricing at a financial institution.">
  • Knowledge of and experience with US bank regulations for liquidity, capital, and interest rate risk management.">
  • Strong understanding of risks in the financial services sector, effective risk management approaches, and global risk issues.">
  • Strong record of work experience in financial service industry with good exposure to operational processes, financial products, credit, and/or risk management activities.">
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in an organized manner, with attention to detail, prioritize, and handle multiple work streams.">
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.">
