Payroll Technician – Level 1

Job Summary:
Olameter is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Technician to join our team. As a Payroll Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and entering timesheets received from field employees, validating imports against employees' timesheets, and addressing any discrepancies with managers. You will also calculate and pay special additional compensations, perform functions with confidentiality and professionalism, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, prepare, review, compile, and enter all payroll-related documents using an in-house payroll system.
- Calculate and pay additional compensations.
- Work with Excel using the Pivot Table and VLookup functions.
- Verify your own work and participate in a peer review process.
- Communicate with employees and managers to obtain additional information and/or authorizations.
- Run, compile, and update weekly reports.
- Perform certain human resources-related duties.
- Perform other duties such as archiving, filing, scanning, photocopying, shredding, etc.
Requirements:
- College degree in Payroll/Accounting.
- 5 years of experience in payroll or a related field.
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.
- Detailed oriented, punctual, flexible, and reliable.
- Experience working with Excel (intermediate level).
- English and French written and spoken (compulsory).
- Able to work in a team of 6 employees in an office environment.
- Use of a computer, including manual data input, reading, and evaluating output on-screen and on printouts.
- Must be able to handle confidential material in a professional manner.
