Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our Access and Assessment Centre team. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive assessments, consultations, and treatment plans for adults with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose patients with a range of mental health conditions, including addiction and concurrent disorders
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in the training and education of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies
Requirements
  • Medical degree and eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Specialist qualification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Eligibility for a clinical faculty appointment with the UBC Faculty of Medicine
  • Experience working with general adult psychiatry and interest in teaching
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
