Job Title: Expert Geotechnical ConsultantSalary

$90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct interaction with clients to understand their needs and expectations;
  2. Manage client relationships throughout the project term, including providing technical advice and managing project schedules and budgets;
  3. Managing the proposal process, including preparing cost estimates for public and private sector markets;
  4. Project management of geotechnical investigation and design assignments, including responsibility for project scope, schedule, quality, safety, and cost control;
  5. Geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting;
  6. Liaise and collaborate with other disciplines within Egis on joint proposals and projects;
  7. Conduct site reviews as needed during conceptual, investigation, and construction phases;
  8. Liaise with clients, government, and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors;
  9. Play an active role in business development activities and marketing by establishing and maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  10. Provide guidance, mentoring, and geotechnical design training to staff as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Being a licensed member of Professional Engineers Ontario;
  2. A minimum of 5-7 years of consulting experience, preferably in Ontario;
  3. Knowledge and working experience with applicable regulations, codes, and guidelines such as CFEM, CHBDC, OPSS, OBC, etc.;
  4. Having strong written and verbal communication skills;
  5. Possession of a Graduate Degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering is an asset;
  6. Possession of Class G driver's license;
  7. Ability to demonstrate or provide evidence of project management skills, client management, and interpersonal skills;
  8. Demonstrated experience working with or managing multi-disciplinary project teams;
  9. Previous construction inspection experience;
  10. Laboratory experience in reviewing/ordering testing or management of laboratory operations is an asset;
  11. Demonstrated project experience working with various municipalities across Ontario with preference given to previous experience within the GTHA or Ottawa.
