Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). As a PSW, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients, while working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and service.

You will be responsible for providing personalized care and support to clients with diverse needs and abilities, including assistance with daily living activities, preparing healthy meals and snacks, and maintaining a safe and clean home environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and support to clients with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Prepare healthy meals and snacks according to client preferences and dietary needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean home environment for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
  • RN or RPN
  • Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
  • Home Support Level 2 or level 3 from a recognized curriculum
  • Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
  • International trained nurse
  • Availability for Daytime, Evening and overnight shifts when needed
  • Current PSW Certificate/internationally trained Nurse
  • Current First Aid (Standard) / CPR Certificate (Level C)
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Current immunization record including TB test completed within the past 12 months
  • Current vulnerable sector check screening
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent organizational skills to manage your schedule
  • Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively communicate with clients and to provide companionship to those who need it
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Basic computer/smartphone skills would be an asset
  • This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement
