Job Description

As a Physician Assistant at Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality primary health services and health promotion programs to our diverse client population.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to serve clients and communities using responsive and innovative approaches effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Client Care: Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, formulate treatment plans, order and complete diagnostic tests, and monitor client progress.
  • Medical Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client encounters and management plans.
  • Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Participate in planning and evaluating activities, and develop or initiate health teaching, screening programs, or workshops.
Requirements:
  • Education and Certification: Graduate of an accredited physician assistant education program, registered with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants, and certified by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada.
  • Experience and Skills: Relevant work experience, solid understanding of the role of the Physician Assistant, knowledge of primary health care, health promotion, and chronic disease prevention and management.
  • Personal Qualities: Sound clinical skills and knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in a community-based health setting, experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and commitment to cultural competence and anti-racism principles.
Benefits and Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary of $84,198.88 per year, extended health care benefits, and a full-time permanent position.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, and the work location is in person.
