We're growing rapidly, and Whatnot has been the fastest-growing marketplace in the US over the past two years. We're now hiring forward-thinking problem solvers across all functional areas.

Role

We're seeking an experienced Android engineer with a proven track record of building intuitive user interfaces. As a member of our Android team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing high-quality, user-friendly apps that meet the needs of our growing user base.

  • Design and develop Android apps from scratch, using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to define implementation strategy, define overall requirements, and redefine product features as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve issues with bugs and data inconsistencies.
  • Improve the availability and performance of current systems.
  • Integrate live video streaming with the app.
You

We're looking for a self-starter with a growth mindset, who is passionate about building high-quality software. As our next Android engineer, you should have:

  • 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high-growth startups.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience writing Android apps.
  • Expertise in Kotlin and exposure to Jetpack Compose.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
Compensation

For US-based applicants, the salary range is $178,000 - $235,000/year, plus benefits and stock options. The final salary will be based on factors like level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise.
