Job Summary:

The Relief Pharmacist will provide pharmacy services and support to customers, medical practitioners, and other retail pharmacies working shifts scheduled by the Relief Coordinator. This role requires a licensed pharmacist to work within assigned territory, achieving excellence in patient-focused care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and professional clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services, including disease state management, medication reviews, and health risk assessments.
  • Prioritize technical functions to Pharmacy Assistants when available.
  • Initiate care plans, follow up, and document patient information.
  • Coach pharmacy students and Pharmacy Assistants (if applicable).
  • Collect relevant patient, drug, and disease information.
  • Identify actual and potential drug-related problems.
  • Monitor medication adherence.
  • Provide patient counseling for new therapy and determine patients' understanding of their medication.
  • Tailor counseling to patients' needs and concerns, including literacy, hearing loss, and privacy.
  • Exceed customer expectations through ROLES efficiencies.
  • Acknowledge customers promptly and professionally.
  • Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion towards customers.
  • Provide superior customer service to every customer.
  • Understand all PROfile offerings and provide each customer with the program that meets their health needs, including Pill Pack Plus, Diabetes Care in Action, Autofill Plus, Health Inform, Kids Club, and Flavorx.

Requirements:

  • Above-average communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the province of responsibility.
  • Injection Certification.
  • Previous experience in a retail and/or retail pharmacy setting preferred.
