We are seeking a skilled Residential Counselor to join our team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. The successful candidate will establish therapeutic relationships with patients and facilitate maintaining the therapeutic environment in our Psychiatric Unit.

Responsibilities:

  1. Establishes therapeutic plans and maintains appropriate relationships with assigned patients to ensure treatment plans are followed.
  2. Provides patient-centered care focused on patients' health and safety.
  3. Conducts patient group sessions and education reflecting treatment plans and goals.
  4. Ensures follow-up with clinical and/or support staff and assists with routine activities of daily living.
  5. Maintains current knowledge in the field of psychiatric care and applies a broad range of established therapeutic techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related behavioral science area.
  • At least three years' experience in social work, clinical mental health counseling, or a related field in a psychiatric in-patient or clinical environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in New Hampshire.
  • Experience working within the mental health service delivery system.
