Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Macaulay Child Development Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing high-quality programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the implementation of developmentally appropriate programs for children, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Plan and execute daily programming using approved curricula and approaches, promoting children's optimal development.
  • Encourage active learning, build self-esteem, and facilitate planned and spontaneous experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support children's progress and success, including liaison with schools and special needs consultants.
  • Supervise student teachers, assist with college evaluation forms, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Attend agency staff meetings, training, and team meetings, maintaining optimal attendance and adhering to all applicable regulations and laws.
Qualifications
  • Early Childhood Education degree or diploma, or equivalent, with experience working with families and children, including those with special needs.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Strong working knowledge of the ELECT and High Scope curriculum, with experience in program planning based on an inclusion model.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective work partnerships with parents, colleagues, and service providers of diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Acceptable Vulnerable Police Record Check, current Standard First Aid certification, and appropriate medical and immunization record.
Salary and Benefits

Trained Teacher Salary Scale (starting at $50,072 - $54,465 per annum), with a competitive benefits package and paid time off entitlements.
