Job Summary

This role involves inspecting logs for compliance with specifications and estimating average log length and stem count. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect logs for compliance with specifications assigned to the plant site
• Estimate and record average log length and stem count
• Communicate and direct traffic flow of trucks loading and unloading at the plant site
• Communicate plant safety rules to all drivers
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on log receipts
• Assist with inventory processes
• Provide training and mentorship to Weighmasters
• Assist Manufacturing Quality Staff with plant quality control and waste and residue program

Requirements

• Great communication skills and ability to provide mentorship and training
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with little supervision
• Lifting up to 10lbs regularly, lifting 25lbs occasionally, and lifting up 50lbs as needed
• Experience with scales and record keeping
• Log Quality identification experience
• BC Interior Scaling License
