Job Summary

The Farm Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our farm, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing a team of farm workers, coordinating farm activities, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and Supervise Farm Workers
    • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of farm workers to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
    • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of farm workers.
  • Coordinate Farm Activities
    • Plan and coordinate farm activities, including planting, harvesting, and maintenance tasks.
    • Ensure that all farm activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Accurate Records
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of farm activities, including production records, financial records, and personnel records.
    • Ensure that all records are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure Farm Safety and Bio-Security
    • Develop and implement effective farm safety and bio-security procedures to ensure the health and safety of farm workers and the quality of produce.
    • Monitor and maintain farm equipment and facilities to ensure that they are in good working order.
  • Perform Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in farm management or a related field.
  • Skills
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Certifications
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • Pesticide Applicator's Licence.
