Job Summary:

Algoma Steel Inc is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding steel components to meet the company's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble steel components using various welding techniques
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Develop and implement fabrication and welding processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth production and delivery of steel components
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with company standards

Requirements:

  • Current certificate of qualification as a Metal Fabricator (Fitter) 437 A
  • CWB SMAW S or T four-position Ticket
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TSSA P1-P1 in 6-G position within the first 3 months
  • Valid Gas and/or Steam Ticket (asset)
  • Ability to work at heights and respirator fit
  • Demonstrated ability to review and understand Fabrication and Welding drawings
