Director of Software Engineering

Agfa HealthCare is seeking a highly skilled Director, Software Engineering to lead our Waterloo R&D office. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for coaching, mentoring, and motivating the development organization, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and R&D strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the team to deliver high-quality software releases on time, within scope, and with efficiency.
- Develop and implement QA processes and code reviews to ensure software products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Allocate resources effectively, including people, budget, and technology infrastructure, to ensure releases are adequately resourced to meet objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and senior management, to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
- Develop and implement a technical vision and viewpoint, aligning with the company's technical roadmap and ensuring the team is equipped to deliver on business results.
- Strong technical leadership skills, with experience in full-stack development of large-scale enterprise applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and connect with cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software releases on time, within scope, and with efficiency.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks that may impact project delivery, such as technical challenges, resource constraints, or changes in requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and project management experience, with the ability to set strategy and roadmap for the team.
