Job Summary

The Grid Shared Services is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger and financial records of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the general ledger by preparing and analyzing journal entries and accruals
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, and profit and loss statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
  • Set up new general ledger accounts and reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Manage the Intercompany process and reconciliations, and prepare the necessary entries in the ledger
  • Work with Treasury, AP, Billing and AR to validate subledger balances
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Analyze information by developing variance reports on a monthly basis
  • Work with the internal and external US and Canadian auditors
  • Prepare sales tax filings
  • Communicate with CRA, IRS and other government agencies regarding tax filings, payments, account balances
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and/or related accounting experience
  • CPA Certification a plus
  • Accounting: 7-10+ years experience (required)
