Job Overview

Afra Furniture is seeking a skilled Woodwork Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our workshop, you will be responsible for preparing, sanding and trimming wooden furniture and fixture parts.

About the Role

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in woodwork, preferably in a furniture upholstery and repair shop environment. You will work on site, setting up and operating finishing machines or finish furniture by hand. Your expertise will be essential in staining or finishing wood to specified colours, applying toners, highlights, glazes or shaders to obtain desired finishes and cleaning, polishing and waxing furniture.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, sand and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts
  • Set up and operate finishing machines or finish furniture by hand
  • Stain or finish wood to specified colour
  • Apply toners, highlights, glazes or shaders to obtain desired finish
  • Clean, polish and wax furniture
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in woodwork
  • Experience working in a furniture upholstery and repair shop environment
  • Ability to work on site
