About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interprofessional team at Markham Stouffville Hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and education to adult patients with swallowing and communication disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose swallowing and communication disorders in adult patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve swallowing and communication function
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on swallowing and communication strategies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
  • At least 2 years of recent experience with dysphagia and communication disorders in a subacute and/or acute medical environment
  • Proficiency with videofluoroscopic swallow studies and MBSImP certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development
