Job Title: Assistant Buyer

OYATO FOOD INC. is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with suppliers, negotiating prices, and selecting and purchasing merchandise for resale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices and credit terms.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring adequate stock levels and meeting customer requirements.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay up-to-date on industry trends and products.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Work Environment:
  • Urban area.
  • Wholesale establishment/store.
  • Retail business.
  • Rural area.
Travel Requirements:
  • Willing to travel regularly.
  • Willing to travel cross-border.
  • Willing to travel for extended periods.
Language:
  • English.
Work Hours:
  • 35 hours per week.
