About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer to join our Grocery Pick Hardware Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing advanced robots for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Build structural and motion assemblies, including end effectors, robot supports, and dresspacks.
  2. Validate your designs through bench tests, FEA, and production trials.
  3. Create assembly drawings in SolidWorks and manage the bill of materials through our PLM system.
  4. Develop accurate and concise assembly instructions and SOPs for installation, maintenance, and manufacturing teams.
  5. Work in a cross-functional team developing technologies to be used in production.
  6. Perform design reviews, promote, and implement development best practices.
  7. Elevate the skill of the team through technical mentorship and foster a culture of mentorship within the team.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in a related industry.
  2. Ability to iterate quickly and demonstrate new concepts through rapid prototypes of your designs.
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and the ability to approach problems from first principles.
  4. Experience modelling and creating part drawings for sheet metal parts, weldments, precision machined components, castings, and injection moulded components.
  5. Experience selecting, sizing, and designing for various actuator types, transmissions, and pneumatic systems.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Applicable skills in end effector design, industrial automation, or robotic work cells.
  2. Pneumatic system experience, including valving and instrumentation.
  3. Knowledge of safety systems for industrial machinery.
  4. Experience with analog electrical equipment, automated test fixtures, and sensor selection.
