We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Joven Trucking Ltd.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring professionalism and a positive experience for clients.
- Permits and Documents: Obtain special permits and documents required for international routes.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Inspections and Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in good working order.
- Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience is an asset.
- Transportation/Travel Experience: Long-haul experience.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, sitting.
- Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgment, organized, reliability.
