We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our Buildings practice in Canada.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time position based in Regina, Saskatchewan with occasional travel to Saskatoon and other project locations.

About the Role:

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team designing building structures on various projects, from medium-sized to large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Analysis: Conduct structural design calculations and prepare related documents for building structures and facilities.
  • BIM and Collaboration: Utilize BIM technologies to develop three-dimensional models of building's structural systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Project Coordination: Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams and external consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Client Communication: Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis.
  • Project Management: Assist senior staff in developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
  • Site Visits: Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, post-construction review, and structural condition assessments.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have a thorough knowledge and experience in the application of National Building Code and other relevant design codes and standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Structural Design Software: Strong knowledge of structural design software such as SAP, ETABS, SAFE.
  • Seismic Design: Knowledge of seismic design of building structures.
  • MS Office: General understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with an ability to work independently or with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration and Licensed Professional Engineer are required. A minimum of 5-6 years of solid experience in the structural design of building structures, preferably with significant experience in steel and concrete construction.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is between $120,000-$160,000 CAD depending on qualifications and experience.
