Quality Control Manager Opportunity

Aecon, a leading infrastructure company, is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join our team. As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems and procedures to ensure the highest standards of quality in our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Site Team on all matters related to quality
  • Coordinate activities of the Quality Team
  • Plan, establish, document, and maintain the Quality Management Plan
  • Direct the performance of internal and external quality audits, including audits and assessments conducted on suppliers
  • Verify procurement documents, procured items, and services for construction and installation work
  • Indoctrinate and train quality personnel
  • Maintain qualification records of QA & QC personnel on file
  • Assist with the selection and assignment of Project Quality Personnel to ensure they are trained, qualified, competent, and certified to perform the assigned functions
  • Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors
  • Review and accept customer free issue items and supporting documentation
  • Provide assistance to Project Management related to matters involving Project Quality
Requirements:
  • Certified Engineering Technologist registered in the Province of Ontario or equivalent education and training
  • Minimum 15 years' experience working in infrastructure construction
  • 7+ years' experience working as a QC Manager preferred
  • Certified as an internal or lead auditor to ISO 9001:2015
  • Previous experience in Canadian and International Standards
  • Bridge, roads, transit, and highways construction experience preferred
  • A valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Management and methodologies
  • Strong aptitude for quality assurance
  • Excellent ability to clearly explain advanced technical issues
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and on teams
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office suite
