Job Title: Lead Data Engineer

Are you a seasoned data engineer looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team at Scotiabank.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of data solutions to support our Capital Reporting capabilities. You will work closely with our business stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop innovative solutions to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of data solutions to support Capital Reporting capabilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop solutions
  • Develop and maintain high-quality data pipelines and architectures
  • Lead a team of data engineers to deliver data solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in data engineering
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering and risk management
  • Strong knowledge of banking domain, credit risk, and finance
  • Experience with financial services and capital credit risk technologies
  • 5+ years of experience in programming languages such as R, Python, HTML/XML,.NET, ASP, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, UNIX
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL Server, Hadoop cluster, Hive, Power Shell Scripting, Unix Shell Scripting, XML, and encryption technologies
