We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our Hospital Replenishment Team and Warehouse Operations, you will be responsible for transporting a variety of supplies and materials within the facility and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport supplies and materials using a two-axle transportation vehicle, such as a truck, van, or tow motor.
  • Deliver special items, such as perishables or valuable goods, to specific departments or units.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspection duties on vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Transport food carts from the kitchen to the extended care facility at Vancouver General Hospital and Langley Memorial Hospital sites.
  • Empty linen chutes, load soiled laundry for return to the contractor facility, and transport pharmacy products to the ECU facilities at Langley Memorial Hospital site.

Requirements

  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
  • Experience driving a 5-tonne truck or courier van is an asset.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
