About the Role:

Safeway is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Meat Clerk to join our team. As a Meat Clerk, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our meat department is well-stocked and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and making recommendations on various cuts of meat
  • Uphold and comply with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations
  • Maintain and build merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
  • Use commercial power equipment, order writing, receiving, and rotating product
  • Filling meat counter and showcases, using hand wrapper, and scale, pricing meats
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the meat department

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented with strong customer service qualities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods
