Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned functions as an unregulated care provider, supporting the healthcare team in assisting patients with activities of daily living.
  • Support the effective operations of patient care areas, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, promoting a sense of comfort and well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in providing high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a 1-year Personal Support Worker Diploma from a community college.
  • Recent experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and routine written reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Certificate in Gentle Persuasive Approach.
  • Ability to function as a team member in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Appropriate lifting techniques and physical stamina to perform job duties.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records.
