Job Overview

Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary-aged classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the classroom Teacher and Learning Support team to develop and implement individualized support plans for students with ASD.
  • Provide academic support and accommodations to students with ASD, including assistive technology and adaptive learning strategies.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with ASD.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment by promoting social skills, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy.
  • Support the implementation of behavioral interventions and crisis management strategies as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Experience working with students with ASD or other exceptionalities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
