Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Specialist to support our Compliance Program, ensuring we adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies in Canada and abroad. As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Stay up-to-date on statutory and regulatory developments.
  • Review and interpret laws in the context of our business activities.
  • Ensure personnel possess necessary information to execute their roles in accordance with our Compliance Program.

You will work closely with our Director of Contracts and Compliance to revise, design, and implement corporate policies, identify gaps, and correct violations. Your focus will be on assisting in the development of our compliance function, covering policy review, maintenance, training, development, audit, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A law degree or relevant work experience.
  • 3-7 years of industry or legal experience in areas of focus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze and understand contract conditions, applying and complying with statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Superior contract drafting, negotiating, and reviewing skills.
  • Experience independently managing corporate/commercial legal files.
  • International contract and negotiation experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
