Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

As a key member of Porter Airlines' maintenance team, the Base Engineer will work in a line maintenance environment to support the company's fleet. Reporting to the Manager, MOC, Outbase Maintenance and Contract MROs, this role requires strong technical skills and a focus on safety.
Duties & Responsibilities- Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, approved manuals and established procedures.
- Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems.
- Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems.
- Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble.
- Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
- Maintain GSE.
- Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- Ensure company offices and vehicles are kept organized and in working order.
- Carry out any task assigned by Maintenance Operations Control.
- Assist on the ramp as required.

Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 rating) is required. Proven technical aptitude with at least 2 years' experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8– 400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft is preferred.
Experience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine engines is required. Ability to frequently climb, kneel and crawl into tight spaces is required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required. Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver's airside license within 6 months from date of hire is required. Full unrestricted driver's license with a clean abstract is required. Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests is required. Flexibility to work shifts and overtime is required.
