Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 per year
This role is part of our dynamic team of medical laboratory professionals who play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and interpreting diagnostic laboratory tests, maintaining quality control and quality assurance programs, and contributing to the promotion and treatment of health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing and interpreting routine and special stains, including immunohistochemistry as required;
- Gross dissection and preparation of specimens for frozen sectioning examination under the supervision of a Pathologist;
- Embedding techniques and microtomy to produce acceptable quality slides;
- Manual and automated staining procedures;
- Maintenance of quality control and quality assurance programs;
- Contribution to the development and implementation of new testing protocols and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) General Diploma from a recognized school of Medical Laboratory Technology;
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO);
- At least 2 years of experience in Histology, including gross dissection, embedding, microtomy, and routine and special staining.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with immunohistochemistry an asset;
- Proven attendance record;
