Tile Setter

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Hawari Contracting LTD. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing ceramic and porcelain tiles in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Prepare and mark surfaces to be covered with tiles
  
• Mix, apply, and spread adhesives using hand trowels
  
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  
• Align and straighten tiles
  
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  
• Instruct apprentices
  
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  
• Supervise other workers
  
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  
• Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  
• Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  
• Install tile strips
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• Certificate of First Aid
  
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  
• Criminal record check
  
• Driver's validity license check
  
• Own transportation
  
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments
  
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  
• Excellent oral communication skills
  
• Judgement and reliability
  
• Team player
  

Work Environment: This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will have a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
