Our client, a leading law and tax firm in Thornhill, is seeking a highly skilled US Tax Manager to join their team. As a key member of the compliance division, you will lead engagements and work closely with clients to provide expert advice on US and Canadian tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team responsible for preparing US and combined US-Canadian individual income and estate tax returns for US citizens living in Canada, US residents working in Canada, and Canadians working and investing in the US.
  • Review tax returns and other work done by team members for accuracy and completeness, providing feedback and coaching for professional development.
  • Monitor project timelines, adjust as necessary, and advise clients on project status and discrepancies.
  • Develop and train team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in US and Canadian tax law.
Requirements:
  • Professional accounting designation an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in personal income tax, with knowledge of Canadian and US personal tax an advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, clients, and staff, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
