Power Engineering Expert

As a Power Engineering Expert at Sunrise Farms, you will be responsible for providing high-level expertise and supervision to ensure the efficient and effective operation of our power engineering systems. Your primary goal will be to support company objectives, meet maintenance goals, and achieve departmental downtime goals and preventative maintenance schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain stationary mechanical equipment, including steam boilers and ammonia refrigeration plants.
Provide utilities, heating, and cooling for buildings and industrial processes.
Read meters and gauges to verify operating conditions and troubleshoot equipment problems.
Perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, including overhaul and installation of new equipment.
Record data, such as temperature, hours of operation, fuel consumption, and chemical levels.
Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended operating ranges.
Visually inspect equipment to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
Maintain equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, and replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges.
Perform water titration tests and add chemical additives to prevent scale build-up and clean boiler lines.
Record operation and maintenance actions taken during shift operator's logbook.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Perform routine maintenance work on machinery and generate parts requests to ensure adequate inventory.
Complete work orders as assigned by the lead hands, supervisors, and Maintenance Manager.
Perform general housekeeping in the maintenance department and maintain the cleanliness of the shops.
Operate and maintain effluent treatment plant when required and pump and maintain cooking oil storage.
Perform other duties as required, such as pumping oil, cooking oil management, and routine maintenance of effluent treatment plant.
Have full knowledge of the Emergency Response Plan to deal with all emergencies and security threats in a systematic and organized manner.
Check and verify the proper functionality of the Fire Alarm system and perform the Maintenance checklist when applicable.
Requirements:
Completion and possession of a 4th class or higher Power Engineering (general program) certification.
3-5 years of experience in a similar job is an asset.
Previous Leadership/management experience/education.
Ability to work flexible shifts and read blueprints and draw schematics of machinery.
Ability to follow OEM specifications and schematics (hydraulic, pneumatic).
Previous PLC knowledge is an asset.
Mechanically inclined and have manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
Ability to pass a fit test mask and TRST supplied by the Company.
Experience in a Food Processing & Cooking Meat Facility is an asset.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
Be success-driven and have a 'can do' attitude.
Be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Have a good attendance and safety record.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to supervise and schedule maintenance staff and volunteers.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize.
