Job Description

Procurement and Contract Formation Lead

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Contract Formation Lead to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our Major Projects division, you will be responsible for delivering complex procurement projects through collaboration and a best-for-project vision.

The role will report to the Procurement and Contract Formation Lead and will involve initiating, issuing, and administering purchase orders, preparing bidders lists, bid packages, and requests, receiving and evaluating bids, and preparing purchase recommendations.

You will also be responsible for communicating with clients to secure approvals for purchases in accordance with established procedures, placing orders, and maintaining all documents and controls to monitor suppliers' performance and conformance to commercial terms.

Additionally, you will interact with engineering and construction staff to monitor revisions and amendments, and assist at post-award meetings to ensure understanding between clients and suppliers on all contractual matters.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, issue, and administer purchase orders through predetermined procedures;
  • Prepare bidders lists, bid packages, and requests;
  • Receive and evaluate bids;
  • Prepare purchase recommendations;
  • Communicate with clients to secure approvals for purchases in accordance with established procedures;
  • Place orders and maintain all documents and controls to monitor suppliers' performance and conformance to commercial terms;
  • Interact with engineering and construction staff to monitor revisions and amendments, and assist at post-award meetings to ensure understanding between clients and suppliers on all contractual matters;
  • Support material receiving and inventory checks;
  • Administer purchase orders, including expediting orders, reviewing progress, invoice reviews and validations, as well as entries and updates within the purchasing system.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement and/or supply chain;
  • Working knowledge of procurement methods and procedures;
  • Post-secondary education in a related field;
  • Makes decisions and recommendations within authorized limits;
  • Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, handling deviations from standard methods, and resolving difficulties;
  • Strong work ethic, positive "ready to learn" attitude, attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Experience within a construction environment and knowledge of construction processes by which the works will be undertaken, is an asset;
  • Able to work under pressure and to effectively multi-task;
  • Dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Systems and Microsoft Office suite skills.
