Mental Health and Addiction Care Professional

Vancouver Coastal Health seeks a skilled Mental Health and Addiction Care Professional to join their team at the HOpe Centre in North Vancouver. As a key member of the Carlile Youth Concurrent Disorders Centre, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to clients with severe and persistent mental illness, concurrent disorders, and dementia.
About the Role
This is a regular part-time position, working 31.13 hours per week. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of community, social, and mental health resources, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. You will be required to provide individualized direct nursing care, discharge planning, and case coordination services, while also participating in team meetings and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Additionally, you must have completed a minimum 6-week clinical practicum/preceptorship in a mental health setting, supplemented by coursework in mental health or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Key Skills and Qualities
We are looking for candidates who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You must be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records. A strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, trauma-informed care, and recovery models is essential.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $41.42-$55.91 per hour, based on your level of experience and qualifications.
