GHD is committed to helping organizations achieve their environmental goals through innovative waste management solutions. We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our North American Waste Management Team and drive growth in this exciting field.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team of experts in solid waste management and contribute to the development of sustainable waste management practices. As a Waste Management Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership and guidance to technical staff across our offices
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects
  • Developing and implementing effective business development strategies to drive growth in the waste management sector
  • Leading proposals for new projects and managing client accounts
  • Overseeing the planning and design of composting facilities, anaerobic digestion facilities, landfills, transfer stations, composting facilities, material recovery facilities, transfer stations, renewable natural gas projects, and waste-to-energy projects
  • Ensuring the preparation of high-quality technical reports and peer reviews of designs completed by others in the Waste Management group
  • Liaising with regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant regulations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 20+ years of experience in the solid waste industry
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a consulting role
  • 10 years' experience in a business development role
  • Engineer, scientist, or planner background
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a highly skilled and diversified project team
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight
