About the Department

The Department of Political Science, Philosophy and Economics at Nipissing University offers undergraduate programs in Philosophy, including Honours Specialization, Specialization, Major, and Minor degrees. The Philosophy program is committed to providing students with a comprehensive education in the field, with a focus on critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Philosophy, including introductory and advanced courses in various areas of the field.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for Philosophy courses, with a focus on creating engaging and inclusive learning environments.
  • Contribute to the development of the Philosophy program, including participating in curriculum reform and program assessment.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities, including publishing papers and presenting at conferences.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field.
  • Teaching experience at the university level, with a focus on Philosophy.
  • Research experience in Philosophy, with a focus on ethics and public policy-related topics.
