About the Role:
WSP Canada is in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance our mechanical division. This position involves working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to spearhead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You will oversee project tasks from initial concept through to final execution. The scope of projects will encompass a variety of sectors, including commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Experience in mission-critical data centers, healthcare projects, or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodologies will be considered advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design projects from inception to completion, working closely with a diverse team and applying advanced technical knowledge.
- Supervise and coordinate a design team while offering technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Engage with technical resources, such as the Decarbonization Team and Digital Solutions Group, to integrate innovative technologies into designs that align with client goals.
- Employ industry-specific software and technologies for design and analytical purposes.
- Participate in client relations, business development, and proposal drafting.
- Oversee project financial assessments, ensuring budget adherence and timely delivery of milestones.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to collaborate and resolve issues in a team-oriented environment.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or equivalent in another Canadian Province or Territory.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience with Revit software.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including but not limited to the National Building Code, ASHRAE, and NFPA.
