Job Summary

BCIT's Automotive Department in the School of Transportation is seeking a regular, full-time BCGEU Faculty, General Motors Automotive. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive General Motors manufacturer-specific training to technicians employed at GM dealerships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach training courses to General Motors dealership technicians at the General Motors Product Service Training Centre in Langley, BC.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality training programs that enhance dealership technicians' technical skills and knowledge.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the GM Product Service Training, GM ASEP team, and BCIT Department Heads.
  • Maintain General Motors owned equipment, including tool storage, computers, and network configurations.

Qualifications

  • BC Trades Qualification with Inter-Provincial Red Seal in Automotive Service Technician and Ozone Depleting Substances.
  • Documented extensive and recent experience in repair and maintenance of automobiles and light-duty trucks in a GM dealership environment.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Current computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
