Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our interdisciplinary team at The EMP, providing high-quality patient care to individuals and families throughout their lives. This role requires a strong foundation in professional LPN practice, with a focus on delivering compassionate and evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, phlebotomy, and physical assessment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for optimal care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.

Requirements

  • Active registration with ANBLPN.
  • Minimum of three years recent medical/surgical, palliative care, and wound care experience in an acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated education and experience related to medication administration, phlebotomy, and physical assessment.
  • Knowledge of the target population of Extra-Mural Services and available community services.
  • Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Current CPR Level C certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and maintain a good attendance record.
  • High regard for confidentiality.
  • Excellent work habits and professional appearance.
