About the Role

This Healthcare Support Professional position reports directly to the Clinic Manager and focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to patients, as well as providing vital support to physicians and medical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Answering phone calls, greeting, and registering patients in a timely and professional manner
  • Responding to patient inquiries via phone or in-person while maintaining confidentiality
  • Preparing and processing payment for services not covered by insurance
  • Escorting patients to exam or treatment rooms, preparing them for physician consultations
  • Cleaning and preparing exam rooms between patient visits to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Performing diagnostic testing as ordered by physicians, including urinalysis
  • Conducting blood pressure readings, temperature checks, height, and weight measurements as required
  • Scheduling and notifying patients of upcoming appointments
  • Scanning patient documents into electronic medical records when necessary
  • Completing daily, weekly, and monthly chore lists according to clinic requirements
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Medical Office Assistant certification is an asset
  • Recent experience in customer service roles
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records systems such as Med Access
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills to handle challenging situations
  • Proficiency in medical terminology is beneficial
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Health Information Act
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $43,000 - $53,000 based on industry standards. Medicentres offers a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for growth and development, and a collaborative work environment.
