Labourer Trainee Program

We're implementing a Labourer Trainee Program designed to increase the number of women employed in our Retail Sales & Operations sites in Nova Scotia.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Good work habits and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and to communicate in writing and verbally.
  • Presentation of oneself in a professional manner while working.
  • Ability to pass required background screening.

Essential Functions

  • Operating equipment, including hand tools, in support of the team to provide timely, safe, and quality service and product to the customer.
  • Performing basic maintenance of assigned equipment to assure its reliability and safe operation.
  • Reading gauges and making adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance and assure quality and accurate product delivery.
  • Assisting the team at the site to safely serve the customer.
  • FOLLOWING all safety procedures and maintaining safe working conditions in the shop, magazine, while operating equipment, and while on blast sites to protect personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Maintaining safe working conditions at all times.
  • Reporting all incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Proactively supporting safety programs by participating in training and safety meetings.
