About the Role:
The Assistant Liquor Store Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for supporting the Liquor Store Manager in directing the day-to-day store operations. This includes providing quality products and services to our guests, as well as leading and managing a team of retail professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with overseeing daily store operations and management in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide direction and leadership to the team, ensuring a positive and motivated work environment.
- Receive and manage product orders, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and ensure stock rotation.
- Collaborate with suppliers to support the Store Manager and ensure seamless operations.
- Assist with creating and entering weekly department schedules to meet staffing needs and budgeted wage costs.
- Review and approve payroll time cards in Kronos.
- Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, retention, training, development, and performance management.
- Participate in periodic inventory, including physical counts, data entry, and reviewing reports for discrepancies.
- Ensure merchandising and program standards are implemented, measured, managed, and maintained.
- Maintain store housekeeping, sanitation, and maintenance schedules/standards.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Lead in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and ensure policies are followed.
- Contribute to living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in Retail Guest Service, with liquor industry experience preferred.
- Previous experience in leading and managing people in a busy retail environment is a strong asset.
- Valid Serving it Right Certificate required; WSET 1 or 2 designation an asset.
- Strong passion for the Liquor Industry and providing an exceptional shopping experience for Guests.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and managing computer files efficiently.
- Solid basic math skills and ability to read and understand financial reports.
- Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills.
- Self-starter with motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
- Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships both internally and externally to support the organization.
- Enjoy working with the public and strive to provide a consistent and superior guest service experience.
- Must have open availability and be able to work a variety of shifts, 7 days a week, including early mornings, afternoons, late evenings, weekdays, weekends, and stat holidays.
- This position is based at the AOL @ Orchard Plaza, though it may require occasional travel and work at other locations as business needs arise.
